So, which dictionary are you using?
The days are over when i gotta grab the thick Webster's dictionary whenever i encounter a word which is unknown to my vocabulary. A plethora of words in the english language are still undecipherable by me. (yup! until now..) due to it's vastness and richness, it has been a necessity for me to have a lexicon handy anytime.
At this age of gadgets and electronics, i would certainly recommend that you install a dictionary in your device. But choosing the best one is definitely a no-time waster.
Here's my choice:
WORDWEB. (click the link to take you to the download page)
- it's free (just download it and run)
- handy and compact
- it doesnt need internet connection for you to browse meanings, antonyms, synonyms, etc,. (if you're google dependent, worry no more if you don't have internet connection, WORDWEB saves you!)
- pronunciation hearing aid is there (what i mean to say, just click on the Speaker Icon and it will say how the word is pronounce, as long as you have audio device on ur lappy or desktop ofcourse!)
- it has an iphone APP via Itunes store for free also!!!
- cuztomizable, in the sense that, you can choose the language default (eg) Australian English, etc.
- it has the option to show Vulgar and Offensive words.
As a recap, if you don't have a dictionary on your Nokia or Iphone or BB yet or on your laptop or desktop yet..
Better get this one and you'll be surprise how HELPFUL it is.
PS:
CTRL + ALT + W is the shortcut to launch it (on windows platform).
